Comments:I have two ancestors who were in the 125th regiment. Samuel Cutler Burdick from Grafton, NY. He was in company A. He was taken as a POW on Dec 1, 1863 in Mine Run, Virginia. He first was taken to Libby Prison and then moved to Andersonville in Feb 1864. He died there on June 18, 1864. He is buried at the Andersonville cemetery. My second ancestor in the 125th was Norman Goyer of company H. On Nov 6, 1863 he was transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps which was for partially disabled soldiers to perform light duty. A picture of him is posted in the picture section of this website.

He is buried in the Nat'l Cemetery there as far as I know. Have a picture of him in Civil War duds. Took 15 years of searching to find out what happened to him after 1860 census, mainly because we never knew he had the "A" first initial...
